Studio Announcement: Wasteland Book Published
Friday, April 16th, 2010……….The studio is pleased to announce that TW’s most recent book publication entitled WASTELAND, has been printed in France, and first edition copies are making their way to international book stores in the coming days. Unfortunately do to the volcanic eruption that took place in Iceland on Wednesday April 14th, the scheduled book signing at the April 17th Wasteland party in Amsterdam is canceled. The publisher La Musardine, Paris has made arrangements for a representative of the company to attend the party on TW’s behalf and will continue to make books available for sale at the event.
Josselein Meijs wrote an insightful essay to accompany the publication about the evolution of the party and its participants;
“If you dare to be different… If you are without prejudice… If you love living on the edge… If exploring your wildest fantasies makes you tick… ”
Stephanie Vovas: Polaroids Part 1
Monday, April 12th, 2010Notes on my Polaroids: Posted by Stephanie Vovas
……….Ever since I was a young girl I have loved Polaroids. I have about 1500 of them, dating all the way back to when I was little. To me, Polaroids are like precious jewels, you cannot recreate them. I think it’s one of the greatest inventions of modern times.
I was a Polaroid junkie and If I didn’t have any Spectra film on hand I felt uncomfortable, because that meant I was unprepared for any beautiful, sexy, interesting moments that might come up.
I want to make a book of all my Polaroid work someday. I look forward to meeting the right publisher. I can’t wait to try the new film that is coming out. Thank God Polaroid is making a come back!

Casting Call: Justine Bakker
Sunday, April 11th, 2010
……….The studio is pleased to announce that after recent correspondence, Dutch fashion model Justine Bakker may be coming out of retirement to work on an erotic fashion editorial for Tony Ward Productions. TW was the first international photographer to discover the androgynous star back in the late nineties when he first began shooting and producing in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Recently, the Studio has been contacted to produce a series of pictures for the 30th anniversary issue of German Cosmopolitan. As he began the casting process his former model came to mind.Shortly after he provided Justine with the confidence to move forward as a fashion model, Mario Testino discovered her and she soon after wound up on the cover of Italian Vogue. Her range is uncanny, from the androgynous editorial shoot Justine produced with TW for Blend Magazine to DKNY international ads, shot by Peter Lindbergh.
Like most models in their 30’s Justine thought she was at the end of the line. She took some time off, and now is contemplating a return to an industry where she was very well received.
TW recently told Justine, “If Linda Evangelista has that kind of staying power, you can too”.

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010How I Met Helmut Newton: Part 1
Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010……….I was in a meeting with my former magazine editor Dian Hanson at her Leg Show office in New York, when she casually mentioned that she was going to be photographed by Helmut Newton for this Sumo sized book that he was publishing with Benedict Taschen. It sounded like an interesting project and I was delighted to hear that Ms. Hanson was invited to Paris to have her portrait taken by the grand master.
She mentioned that Helmut was staying at The Royal Monceau on a regular basis and doing some shooting there. I also enjoy shooting in great hotels myself so Dian suggested I check it out the next time I visited Paris. It just so happened that I had already made arrangements to photograph two Russian models from St. Petersburg, on location in Paris for Penthouse a week earlier, so I decided to book a suite at the Monceau instead of my usual place, The Hotel Regina just a short cab drive away.
To be continued…………….
Alexandra: Hotel Regina- Paris
Friday, February 19th, 2010……….We agreed to meet for dinner at a tiny quaint restaurant just off the Rue de Rivoli. A charming enough place with fine French cuisine to discuss the shoot we were about to embark upon the following day at my hotel suite in Paris. Alexandra was born and raised in France and lived just outside the ring, so I knew she would pick a good place to dine.
She completely embodied my idea of a beautiful French woman, and possessed the confidence in front of the camera to portray the role I wished for her to play. If there is any hotel that sets the mood for a classic erotic sitting, its Hotel Regina, a place that I frequent when I stay in Paris. If your looking to travel and want good old fashioned French charm, this is the place.
The grand old hotel is uniquely located at the corner of Rue de Rivoli and Place des Pyramides, facing the Louvre and the famous Tuileries Gardens. All of the bedrooms are furnished in Louis XV and Louis XVI decorative styles, contemporary it is not.
Alexandra easily felt at home and we quickly moved through a series of poses that she planned. Her experience as a well known nude model for some of France’s finest photographers made my work for the day, quite easy and relaxing.
Just remember, Alexandra does not come with the room. The hotel is a BYOB, bring your own babe………………..

……….I have not modeled since I was in my early twenties. I thought it would be awkward for me, but TW has such an ability to make one feel so comfortable. His professionalism is obvious, but setting the mood with music and making you feel so sexy with words of encouragement is something that will stay with me to this day……..
